Specifying the platformName​

If the element is located right away, the value of the implicit wait does not matter. The find element method for the given language will search the DOM (Document Object Model) of the current web page until it finds a matching element and returns it. Custom attributes are required to link the correct errors and crashes that occurred on the selected device and for the duration of the test. Mobile app testing and error reporting from development to post-release

Dynamic allocation example – finds any device that starts with the display name «Google». If you test a Progressive Web Application (PWA) and install it on the home screen of the device, make sure that you remove the PWA manually before you close your session. At the moment we can’t remove the PWA and its data during our cleaning process. If you upload an app that is signed with an enterprise certificate, and Instrumentation is DISABLED in app settings, you must manually trust the certificate before it will successfully launch.

You can also use the app name field from the storage API in the app capability. This approach is particularly useful if you upload your build to app storage via a CI pipeline, and you either don’t know the id, or you do not wish to perform JSON parsing to retrieve the id. The filename field also includes any supported file that can be uploaded to app storage. Dynamic allocation is advised, in particular, for all automated mobile app testing in CI environments. Changing an App Version​

Apple certificates are used to ensure security in their systems, and they are much more strict about them than Android. This level of security makes certificates a very complex part of making Apple Pay work with devices in a cloud. If you have a value set for browserName Sauce will
treat it as a mobile-web test instead of a native app test, so make sure this value is empty or removed. The following example sets up forwarding of host port (laptop/CI) to device port (the Android device) where we change text in the app.

To initiate a session with automatic Passcode enabling, explore our passcode capability, where you have the option to utilize either a dummy app or our Sauce Demo application. Setting your Sauce Labs username and accessKey as environment variables provides an extra layer of security for your credentials when you reference them from within your tests. As a reminder, vUSB only works on private devices (marked with a ). A quick way to find your organization’s private devices from the device list is to click Filters and toggle Private Devices. The device you choose will be allocated specifically to you while your session is active.

Sauce Labs Mobile Testing Solutions

While it is a one-line code change that can potentially reduce the number of failed tests in your suite, it is more of a crutch than a successful long term solution. Tests run on Sauce Labs that set an implicit wait are more likely to be reported as failing
than tests that do not set implicit waits. If you’re in a bind, and want to try an implicit wait, make it a small value, set it with the Browser Options when creating the session, and then don’t change it.

Click the link to see your device in action, running your tests in real time. The port number is needed when you want to connect the device to ADB (see step 7). The only timeout that can be triggered is the timeout of a manual/live session that has been opened from method 1 or 2. The reason for this is that a manual/live testing timeout triggers a disconnection of the device and closes the already running vUSB session.

Unused minutes in your account at the monthly renewal time do not roll over.
